So far, 2011 has been a fun and successful year for
Rainham Ladies Choir.
In March, we were invited to perform in concert at Cobham Hall; a
prestigious occasion in a magnificent setting. We will have the pleasure
of returning again in 2012.
During March and April, we
participated in the Gravesham Festival of Music and Speech and the
Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. We won both of the classes
we entered at Medway with distinction and sang at the Medway Festival
Concert on Saturday 14th May.
The choir had a very enjoyable
day at the Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival in July where,
against formidable opposition, we gained a first with distinction and
four seconds.
On 22nd October we presented our
annual concert at the Britannia Theatre within the Dickens Centre in
Chatham, together with the Kent Police Band. The evening supported
MacMillan Cancer Care, with the raffle and other sources raising around
£400 for the charity.
